Chitkara School of Health Sciences, in association with Chitkara Spaak Centre for Multidisciplinary European Studies, organized the first Intra-consortium Empowerment Camp on ‘Risk Management & Prevention of Antibiotics Resistance – PREVENT IT’, an Erasmus plus funded project, from July 1-5, 2019. The inauguration ceremony was commenced by Hon’ble Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Vice-Chancellor, Chitkara University along with the consortium partners i.e. members from Indian & European universities as well as Non-Governmental Organizations.

The 5-Day Empowerment Camp aimed to understand the project’s framework and goals as well to establish an Indo-European Network. The discussions among the Indo-European network were focused on the ‘know-how’ to create and implement an interdisciplinary curriculum resulting in awareness about the alarming situation of antibiotic resistance (ABR). As part of the camp, visit to pharmaceutical industry and Fortis Hospital, Mohali, was also organized to understand the view and measures taken by the healthcare practioners and pharmaceutical companies on the issue of ABR.
